Tong Ren Therapy & Autoimmune Disorders — Video Testimonial Included
An over reaction of the immune system often times causes excess inflammation in the body. This in turn causes what is called a “yin deficiency” in Chinese medicine. Yin is considered moisturizing and cooling in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Your body needs to have a balance between yin and yang. When yin is depleted, yang becomes overactive since yin cannot anchor it anymore. Your immune system has a yang quality to it being that it has a protective nature to it. This is why many people with CF or FM develop allergies to perfumes or colognes. Their bodies are over reacting to a stimuli that would normally be tolerable. Their joints may become achy due to the lack of fluid (yin) in their body. Their energy (yang) becomes weak due to inadequate rest and sleep (yin). In addition, stress on the body causes tension and tightness which leads to impairment of nerve, blood and energy flow leading to pain. Theses are often times just the beginning of symptoms and symptoms can be very different according to the autoimmune disorder you have.
Tong Ren Therapy is very beneficial in treating autoimmune disorders. Tong Ren can first relax the body and calm inflammation in the body. Relaxation also helps those with excess stress in the body. This is of utmost importance as the reason why the disease often times exists is due to tension and tightness in the body and rest and sleep deprivation. With relaxation, the body’s yin can build and blockages will dissipate. Furthermore, as the body relaxes it can heal and detoxify itself. This is especially beneficial for those who have been exposed to environmental factors that are toxic to the body causing unusual symptoms. Often times, people feel an immediate relief from aches and pains as the body opens up and obstructions in the body dissipate. In addition, many people with autoimmune disorders are weak and debilitated. Tong Ren also works by giving your body more qi (energy). Often times, I combine Tong Ren, Reflexology and Chinese Tuina massage with great success for autoimmune disorders. Chinese Herbal Therapy is often incorporated. Chinese Herbal Therapy is great at clearing the excess heat (inflammation) and cooling the body down. Of course, to get the most out of the treatments, you must 1) manage your stress and pace your work load 2) beware of environmental factors that can exacerbate any of your symptoms 3) and get proper rest and sleep.
