My first encounter with Tong Ren Therapy was back in 2000 with Tom Tam. I was experiencing back pain and I felt 90% better after a distance healing phone session. I was living in Santa Fe, New Mexico and he was in Boston, Massachusetts. I felt some warmth, heat in my lower back and a deep relaxation in my body. I was astonished!!! How could he do this? Having a technical background (computer programmer) and having a B.S. from Virginia Tech, I tried my best to understand how this was possible. I never imagined that I would be doing the same thing almost 8 years later.
A friend of mine told me how Tom cured her cough of many months without touching her. To say that I was skeptical is an understatement. How can you heal someone without touching them? She finally forced me to take his phone number and asked that I speak with him. I had his phone number for many months, but never even thought to call him. However, one day I started experiencing severe back pain, I thought that this would be a great opportunity to see if this distance energy healing stuff really works. As someone who has always been interested in metaphysical phenomena, I was open to trying to it. However, to be honest I didn’t think that it would it be effective. So when I got off the phone with Tom, I was amazed and excited about Tong Ren Therapy.
During my phone session with Tom, he explained to me that he trains people to do this type of energy work. Can I be trained to do this? I told him that he is a gifted healer and that I didn’t think I could be able to do it. He said “Its easy MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO”. Basically, he was telling me to watch what he does and to mimic it. I was still skeptical at this point. Now I wasn’t skeptical about distance healing or Tong Ren Therapy, but about my ability to do it. So I bought all his books and was fascinated by Tom’s philosophy and theories. It made so much sense. And the testimonials were amazing. I finally decided to take a seminar. After the seminar, I started practicing. My confidence was still low at this time, but I kept trying.
Tom then decided to do a seminar in Santa Fe, New Mexico which was great for me because now I didn’t have to travel to his seminar because I was already living in Santa Fe at the time. I took that seminar in Santa Fe and the rest is history. I started practicing more and my confidence built. I was helping people with Parkinson’s, Cancer, Asthma, and many other difficult conditions. I am supremely grateful to have met a man of Tom Tam’s caliber. Our work is unconventional but as Tom says “WE MIGHT BE CRAZY BUT WE NOT STUPID”.
