Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system primarily affecting the motor skills of the patient. The classic sign of Parkinson’s is tremors although the patient most likely will also suffer with muscle rigidity, a walking shuffle and generally overall slower movement. Although modern medicine hasn’t quite figured out the cause of Parkinson’s, there is speculation that the lack of dopamine is causing the tremor’s and other symptoms. When one is relaxed (parasympathetic mode), the brain releases the “feel good” hormones like serotonin, acetycholine and

Many people suffer with chronic sinusitis, rhinitis and allergies. There can be a multitude of reasons why one can have these conditions. However, many people make these conditions worst by not letting their nose heal. Because we are obsessed with cleanliness in this country, we are constantly blowing our noses. In fact, many of my patients blow their noses much too hard and much too often. If you have any of these conditions, I want you to try experimenting with NOT

Bi-Polar disorder is basically when one has high highs and low lows. Now in my treatments, I focus on keeping the patient more in the middle. What that means is that I work on keeping the patient in a calm and relaxed place. Now if you’ve been working out for a year, and stop for a couple of months, does that mean that you’ll loose the muscle mass that you developed the prior year. Of course not. Likewise, if you stay in a relaxed space, it will be that much harder for you to feel stressed or anxious or down and depressed. Acupuncture with Guided Relaxation will actually allow you to release “feel

Seeing many patients at my clinic I have come to the realization that we must expand our definition of success. For many, success is monetary. The more money you have or make, the more successful you are. However, many of these people come into my clinic with severe health issues. Now my definition of success is being happy with my career, having leisure time for friends, exercising and monetary gain. Unfortunately, when we put too much weight on one aspect of our lives, something is going to be deficient or become lacking. I see many people who work hard and are quite wealthy, but there

Getting treated early is imperative. I see too many people who come in for treatment after their condition has become severe. This makes their treatment cycle longer and frankly, my job a lot tougher. As I am a lazy Acupuncturist
I like to always find easy and simple ways to treat people. If I can tell you to make a lifestyle change that will help with your condition then that means you will come in less often saving both our times, energies and you lots of money. I will then

In my never ending search to educate people about health and well being, I look at illnesses and see what is the root cause. Usually it is a lifestyle issue. And once people are a little more educated about what they are doing that is actually making their condition worst, they can consciously choose to do the right thing. Hernias, Diverticulums, Hemorrhoids and Prolapses are different names given to what seems to me as the same condition. The different names correlate to different parts of the body or internal vs. external disorders, but ultimately they all entail a collapse occurring. These conditions are often caused by too much internal pressure in the lower abdomen or rectum. That’s why I always tell people NOT TO PUSH

I finally came to the conclusion that this article needed to be written in order for patients to truly understand how to get the most out of their treatments. Too many patients come in and try acupuncture once and never try it again. Now if you’ve had high blood pressure for many years, you probably need more than one session to get the results you want. Chinese medicine fundamental philosophy is to let the body heal on its own naturally. This Healing Process occurs gradually. (more…)

Meditation is not as difficult as many think it to be. First, there must be a deep understanding of it. Meditation is ultimately nothing more than a very deep relaxed state of being. When in this state of being, it allows you to go beyond our dualistic (more…)

Are you an athlete, actor, singer, dancer or in the performance arts and wish to enhance your performance in a natural way? In this day in age, many people are abusing steroids and other performance enhancing drugs to perform better. Of course, these drugs are toxic to your body and it would be wise to stay clear of them.
